CHAPTER SEVEN
A CONVENIENT virgin. When he’d told Kamil he would find someone who would pass for a convenient virgin, he’d had no idea just how convenient Murjanah would be.
Or how much a virgin.
Tajik lay back on his bed, his hands behind his head. She was a find, a rare pearl indeed. He’d figured her as inexperienced—but to be untouched? She had told him she’d been engaged to be married. How could any man have neglected a fiancée so clearly responsive? It was his loss, whoever the fool was. Right now she must be tossing and turning in anticipation of the completion tomorrow night would bring. It would be his pleasure to introduce her to the delights of the bedroom. Her remaining resistance would crumble like an eggshell and she would be his.
His and no one else’s.
A feeling akin to pride filled his chest. Until now he hadn’t cared if she’d had one or two other lovers. To him it had not been an issue when he had merely been looking for an easy fix to the problem of Qasim.
And yet now that concept appealed more and more.
Why should that be? He looked to one side, his eyes seeking out the photograph next to his bed of the woman with the wide dark eyes and enigmatic smile. If she had lived he would be married to her now, and none of this would be necessary.
Beautiful Joharah, with her meek manner and accommodating nature. Joharah would never have argued with him like this woman did. She would never have been bold enough to tell him that he was crazy and mad. She would never have dared hint that any woman in Jamalbad would turn him down, let alone every single one of them.
He allowed himself a smile at the memories, eventually letting his gaze slide back to the ceiling. His convenient virgin was proving more entertaining than he’d ever imagined.
